Chennai, April 6 -- The Income Tax Department has joined the growing list of central agencies investigating expelled DMK functionary and Tamil film producer Jaffer Sadiq, who was arrested and release on bail for his involvement with international drug cartel network.
On Monday, officials from the Income Tax department, along with flying squad teams from the Election Commission, conducted extensive searches at over ten locations across Chennai, including Egmore, Kilpauk, Anna Salai, and Perambur.
Properties associated with Sadiq were among the primary targets. Officials also searched his residence located in the Foreshore Estate area as part of the coordinated operation.
