Jerusalem, May 31 -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday that it killed five militants during operations in the Gaza Strip over the past day.
According to the statement, a combat team from the IDF's Paratroopers Brigade identified four armed individuals in an adjacent area on Friday and killed them during the confrontation.
The IDF added that it struck and killed Hamas militant Khalil Farwana in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, noting that he was the head of a weapons manufacturing site in the group's weapons production headquarters.
According to the statement, the troops also dismantled weapons and explosive devices planted in the ground, and destroyed infrastructure, some of which was underground.
