Tehran/Tel Aviv, March 17 -- Israel carried out a series of strikes on Tehran, Shiraz, and Tabriz, targeting missile production sites and command centers, Israeli officials said, amid reports that Ali Larijani, Iran's top security official, was among those hit.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it is assessing the damage to determine the impact of the strikes. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said on Tuesday that the military had "recorded significant achievements in Iran last night," without confirming specific casualties.
