Tehran, Feb. 6 -- The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an elite branch of Iran's armed forces, has deployed its latest long-range ballistic missile, the Khorramshahr-4, at one of its bases, Iranian state broadcaster Press TV reported on Thursday.

The Khorramshahr-4 was among the operational assets unveiled during the opening of the site, which is operated by the IRGC Aerospace Force. The deployment signals the missile's incorporation into Iran's defense doctrine.

According to Press TV, the Khorramshahr-4 has a range of 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles) and is capable of carrying a 1,500-kilogram (3,300-pound) warhead.
