Shimla, Feb. 14 -- Shimla Police on Saturday arrested an alleged international drug trafficker who had been evading investigative agencies and hiding in Nepal.

Superintendent of Police Shimla, Gaurav Singh, informed that the accused, identified as Vijender Singh alias Chhotu (35), a resident of Chidgaon in Shimla district, was apprehended on February 13 following a coordinated operation conducted near Banbasa on the India-Nepal border. The arrest was the outcome of a joint operation by Police Station Rohru in collaboration with Uttarakhand and Nepal Police. Acting on technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, the police traced the accused to his hideout across the border and secured his arrest within 48 hours.
