Darbhanga, Feb. 27 -- Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh said on Thursday that intercropping arrangements were being made to increase the income of makhana (fox nut) farmers.
Talking to news persons here after taking the feedback and the problems of makhana growers, Singh said that the government was evolving strategies for intercropping arrangements to enhance the earnings of the farmers taking up makhana cultivation.
He said that the District Magistrate of Darbhanga has been instructed to hold meetings with the farmers and other authorities to address the issues of makhana growers.
Singh inspected the Makhana Processing Unit and informed that 70 machines of makhana processing have been distributed at different places.
