Visakhapatnam, Jan. 14 -- The Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Kaundinya reached Muscat on Wednesday after completing its maiden voyage from Porbandar, marking a historic reaffirmation of the ancient maritime links between India and Oman that date back over 5,000 years.
The traditionally built stitched sail vessel, along with its crew, was formally received at Port Sultan Qaboos by union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) said in a release.
The voyage holds special significance as India and Oman commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations.
