New Delhi, Sept. 12 -- India's retail inflation rose to 2.07 pc in August 2025, which is a 46 basis points increase compared to July 2025,official data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) said today.
Food inflation showed some improvement and stayed in a negative zone at -0.69 pc which is a 107 basis points increase compared to July 2025.
The increase in headline inflation and food inflation during August is mainly due to a rise in inflation of vegetables, meat, fish, oil and fats, personal care, eggs, etc.
