Thiruvananthapuram, March 11 -- In a sudden leadership change, Pieter Elbers has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, with immediate effect.
The airline's Board of Directors thanked Elbers for his contributions and service to the organisation and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Following his departure, Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director of IndiGo and one of its founders, will assume interim management of the airline's affairs until the company announces a new chief executive, which it said is expected shortly, a release said.
