Visakhapatnam, Oct. 6 -- Indian Navy commissioned 'iNS Androth' , the second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam.

The commissiononing of Androth would significantly bolster the navy's ASW capabilities, especially in countering threats in littoral waters.

The commissioning ceremony was presided over by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, a Defecne release said .

Built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, INS Androth represents a significant step in India's pursuit of maritime self-reliance.
