New Delhi, April 2 -- India, the longest and largest troop-contributing country to United Nations peacekeeping missions, on Thursday stressed that the "invulnerability of UN missions" must be ensured and the safety and security of its peacekeepers must be guaranteed.
Reaffirming its commitment to UN peacekeeping operations, the External Affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the importance of protecting Indian personnel following recent attacks on United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) troops in Lebanon.
Jaiswal said that India currently has around 600 troops serving in UNIFIL.
