Hyderabad, Jan. 29 -- India's aviation sector will require an integrated network of nearly 400 airports and a commercial fleet of around 3,000 aircraft by 2047 to support the Viksit Bharat vision, according to a report released by KPMG in India in collaboration with FICCI at WINGS INDIA 2026 here on Thursday.

The report stressed that achieving the long-term aviation roadmap will depend on clear outcome-oriented planning, stable policy frameworks, transparent performance reporting and disciplined execution, supported by close collaboration among government, regulators, industry and academia.
