New Delhi, March 17 -- India on Tuesday strongly condemned Pakistan's barbaric airstrike on the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital in Kabul in which about 400 people were killed and more than 250 wounded, describing it as blatant assault on Afghanistan's sovereignty in the holy month of Ramzan.

A statement issued by the External Affairs Ministry described the attack as a ''cowardly and unconscionable act of violence'' that has claimed the lives of a large number of civilians in a facility which can by no means be justified as a military target.

''Pakistan is now trying to dress up a massacre as a military operation,'' the Ministry said in a statement.
