Guwahati, Jan. 30 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday the India-European union (EU) Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will benefit Assam's tea industry, helping the export of tea from Dibrugarh to all 27 EU countries with zero tariff.
The Home Minister who laid the foundation stone of several projects worth Rs. 825 crore, including the second legislative assembly complex, at Dibrugarh, said, "Assam's Dibrugarh is going to have the larger benefit of this free trade agreement with the 27 EU countries. The free trade agreement will help take the tea from Dibrugarh to all the 27 EU countries with zero tariff," Shah said while addressing a public rally in Dibrugarh.
