Hyderabad, Jan. 29 -- India's civil aviation sector is poised for one of the most dramatic expansions in global aviation history, with the country's commercial aircraft fleet set to triple to 2,250 aircraft by 2035, according to a forecast released by Airbus on the ' Indian Aviation Market' at the Wings India 2026 summit here on Thursday.

Fuelled by robust economic growth, rising disposable incomes and an accelerating shift toward air travel, India is on track to become the third-largest aviation market in the world within the next decade, said Jurgen Westermeier, President and MD, Airbus India & South Asia.
