New Delhi, April 2 -- India on Thursday reiterated its stance on the Bahrain resolution at the United Nations, emphasising its commitment to free and open commercial shipping and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

"We continue to call for ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz as a matter of priority," said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, commenting on Bahrain's resolution on securing commercial navigation in the strategic waterway.
