New Delhi, Feb. 5 -- At the World Government Summit in the UAE on Thursday, India backed the integration of modern medicine with traditional health systems to tackle the growing burden of lifestyle-related disorders.
Speaking on the concluding day of the three-day conference, Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, said urbanisation, unhealthy diets, physical inactivity, and chronic stress are among the key drivers of non-communicable diseases and mental health problems.
She said these conditions require health systems to move beyond episodic, curative approaches and shift towards prevention and long-term wellbeing.
