New Delhi/Agartala, Oct. 17 -- India said today that an incident in Tripura, in which three Bangladeshi smugglers were killed, underscores the need for Bangladesh to undertake necessary measures to uphold the sanctity of the International Boundary and support the construction of fencing to prevent cross-border crimes and smuggling.
The statement by the Ministry of External Affairs came in the wake of the October 15 incident in Tripura in which three Bangladesh smugglers who had entered Indian territory to steal cattle, were killed after they attacked the local villagers.
