New Delhi, Dec. 22 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Monday announced the conclusion of a "historic, ambitious, and mutually beneficial" India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The leaders emphasized that negotiations were completed in a record nine months. They made the joint announcement during a telephone call, marking the successful completion of talks initiated during Luxon's visit to India in March.

The two leaders agreed that concluding the FTA in just nine months reflects the shared ambition and political will to further deepen ties between the two countries.
