Aurangabad, March 8 -- Raksha Khadse, union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, on Sunday, said India's medal tally at the Summer Olympic Games and other international multi-sport events can improve significantly if women's participation in sports increases substantially.
Speaking during the launch of a nationwide athletics league at 250 locations under the ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action) programme at the Divisional Sports Complex in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to mark International Women's Day, Khadse said ASMITA has been instrumental in identifying sporting talent from grassroots levels, as per a release.
