Chandigarh, Feb. 4 -- The Amritsar Commissionerate Police have apprehended an individual for allegedly impersonating the Punjab Health Minister and attempting to intimidate government officials into carrying out illegal directives.

The accused had reportedly been using the assumed identity of a high-ranking cabinet member to exert undue influence over administrative processes and mislead public servants.

The matter came to light following a formal complaint by a Senior Medical Officer (SMO) stationed at the Civil Hospital in Amritsar. According to the complaint, the officer received a call at approximately 10:34 AM on February 3, 2026.
