Shimla, Feb. 10 -- Cracking down on illicit private bus operators, the Transport Department on Tuesday conducted a special enforcement drive in the district, during which a private bus was seized for multiple violations.
During the inspection, a Jayant Travel bus was found operating without a valid permit or fitness certificate.
The driver also failed to produce mandatory documents, including a valid driving licence and the vehicle's registration papers.
Officials further discovered long-pending tax dues, indicating sustained non-compliance with transport regulations. In view of the serious violations, the vehicle was taken off the road to avert any threat to passenger safety.
