Jammu, Feb. 25 -- Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday carried out surprise checks on receiving complaints regarding widespread illegal mining activities in Jammu Division by mining block holders (Lessee) in connivance with certain government officials.
The ACB spokesman here said that to curb such illegal activities, the Anti-Corruption Bureau constituted teams to conduct Joint Surprise Checks (JSCs) at different places in the Jammu division.
During the course of JSCs, he said that ACB teams conducted extensive searches at stone crushers at Bajalta, Jammu, Gandyal, Kathua, Kaller Rajouri, Doongi, Rajouri, District Mineral office, Rajouri, mining blocks at Saranu Rajouri, Anji Reasi and Arnas Reasi.
