Imphal, April 27 -- The Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Manipur, has confirmed that the transportation of fertiliser in a truck that was intercepted by locals at Moirang in Bishnupur district was illegal, with action initiated against those involved.

Addressing a press briefing at the Directorate office in Sanjenthong, Imphal East, Director of Agriculture Peter Salam today said a truck was stopped by local residents on suspicion of unauthorised movement of fertilisers.

According to preliminary findings, the vehicle-reportedly linked to Agro-Tech Solutions-was carrying around 600 bags of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP), commonly known as "Diamond," transported from Bihar.
