Chennai, April 28 -- The IIT-Madras has reinforced its leadership in deep-tech entrepreneurship and translational research by incubating 112 startups and filing 431 patents during the financial year 2025-26.

Under its 'Startup Shatam' mission, the IITM Incubation Cell (IITMIC) surpassed the 500-startup mark, reaching a total portfolio of567 startups collectively valued at Rs. 74,100 crore.

A landmark milestone this year was the IPO of Ather Energy, the first publicly listed company from the portfolio, an official release said.
