Varanasi, Feb. 4 -- Scientists at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have developed new and clean technology for extracting metals from complex iron ores.
The technology which has also received a patent, generates significantly less pollution compared to traditional methods and has the potential to substantially reduce carbon emissions from the iron and steel industry.
The research was conducted under the leadership of Prof. Girija Shankar Mahobia of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, IIT BHU, with the collaboration of Dr. Biswajit Mishra and Dr. Lakkoju Shankar Rao.
