Srinagar, Feb. 11 -- Anticipating a surge in tourist arrivals, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, V.K. Birdi on Wednesday directed intensified security measures across key tourist destinations, railway infrastructure and the National Highway.

Birdi said this while chairing a high-level joint security review meeting at Police Control Room Kashmir in view of forthcoming important events.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of J&K Police, Intelligence Agencies, Army, Railways and Central Armed Police Forces deployed in the Kashmir Zone, a police spokesman said.
