Shimla, March 5 -- Himachal Pradesh government has granted a one-year extension in service to Dr Sita Thakur, Principal of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla as the extension would be effective from March 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Medical Education and Research recently Governor has approved the extension in the public interest.
The government stated that the decision was taken in view of the ongoing academic and developmental initiatives at IGMC and the need for continuity in experienced leadership to ensure smooth functioning and institutional stability.
