Chennai, Feb. 14 -- As part of its rich legacy to support, and nurture classical fine arts,93-year-old Indian Fine Arts Society (IFAS), among the oldest sabhas of Chennai that haspromoted classical fine arts among the people and encourage young, talented Carnaticmusicians, organised the annual Saint Thyagaraja Aaradhana day on Saturday.

The highlight was the rendering of Pancharatna Krithis of the revered Saint Thyagaraja, thefirst among the trinities of Carnatic Classical Music -- others being Muthuswamy Dikshitharand Shyama Sasthrigal.

The Artistes also paid tributes to Saint Thyagaraja on the occasion, a release from IFAS said.
