Lucknow, Jan. 16 -- Uttar Pradesh is experiencing severe cold and the icy winds blowing from the mountains have brought night temperatures below normal and impacting people's life.
Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature across the state has been below 10degC. Hardoi was the coldest, recording a low of 3degC.
Due to fog, more than 80 trains in Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Ghaziabad and Lucknow are running hours late. VIP trains like the Vande Bharat and Shatabdi Express are also running off schedule. Flight schedules in Lucknow and Varanasi have also been affected due to fog.
