Hyderabad, Feb. 10 -- The ICAR South Zone sports tournament was inaugurated on Tuesday at the RSC Grounds, Secunderabad, with participation from agricultural research institutions across the southern region.
Dr B Venkateswarlu, former Vice-Chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, inaugurated the tournament as chief guest and declared it open.
Speaking on the occasion, he underlined the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship, noting that the spirit of sports is equally vital in agricultural research and professional life. He also said sports play a key role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
