Prayagraj, Jan. 21 -- An Indian Air Force (IAF) training aircraft crashed into a pond in Prayagraj on Wednesday afternoon. Both pilots on board the two-seater aircraft are safe.

The incident occurred around 12:20 pm behind KP College, a densely populated area in the heart of the city. The crash site is close to schools and residential colonies and about 3 kms from the Magh Mela area.

Soon after the accident, local residents rushed to the spot.

Eyewitnesses said the aircraft started wobbling mid-air before crashing. Before the crash, both pilots ejected using parachutes and landed in the pond. They reportedly got stuck in the marshy area, from where local people helped rescue them.
