Hyderabad, Oct. 18 -- A Hyderabadi paediatrician's eight-year alone battle against sugar-rich beverages falsely marketed as oral rehydration solutions (ORS) has resulted in a major regulatory change announced by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). FSSAI on Saturday said it had earlier issued an order stating that all food business operations including those dealing with fruit-based, non-carbonated, and ready-to-drink beverages stop the use of the term 'ORS' (Oral Rehydration Solution) in their labelling, advertisements, and brand names.
