Hyderabad, Dec. 1 -- : Consultant Physician Dr. Srikrishna Raghavendra today stated that there are around 24 lakh HIV-positive individuals in India and out of which 1.4 lakh are in Telangana. The number is equally distributed between men and women, he said. Dr Raghavendra was addressing an AIDS Awareness Walk organised by Kamineni Hospitals to mark the World AIDS DayDue to increased testing, cases are now being identified in children as well, mostly transmitted from parents, he said. Anyone experiencing symptoms such as frequent fever, persistent weakness, or unexplained tiredness should undergo medical evaluation, he said.
