Hyderabad, Feb. 21 -- The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials have seized the Taj Banjara Hotel, one of the top-rung hotels in Banjara hills in the city for defaulting on Property tax payment of Rs 1.43 crore.

The five-star hotel located in the heart of the city was locked up by the GHMC officials for non-payment of tax on Thursday dues for the past two years but later upon partial payment, the locks have been removed, according to officials.

The hotel has been shut for the last several months due to a dispute between the owners and leaseholders.
