Budapest, April 15 -- Peter Magyar, leader of Hungary's newly elected Tisza party, said on Wednesday he had outlined four conditions to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for the release of frozen EU funds.

Magyar won Hungary's parliamentary elections and said that he had discussed with Ursula von der Leyen the implementation of anti-corruption reforms to unlock EU funds for Hungary- the suspension of state media operations, the restoration of "freedom to the academic environment" and the representation of Hungarian interests across all platforms.

On Monday, Magyar said he had already held talks with von der Leyen on the return of 20 billion euros ($23 billion) in frozen EU funds.
