Budapest/Bratislava, April 4 -- Hungary and Slovakia have agreed to jointly call upon the EU leadership to lift its sanctions on Russian energy supplies to the continent, as it is battling heavy shortages in oil and gas supplies, due to the ongoing war in West Asia, said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in a call with his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Orban said that it is pivotal that Budapest and Bratislava jointly take steps to help the EU countries avoid shortages of raw materials and fuel, as well as rising energy prices.
