Keylong, Jan. 28 -- In view of heavy to very heavy snowfall and worsening road conditions, the District Administration of Lahaul and Spiti has ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Lahaul and Udaipur sub-divisions.
The decision has been taken to ensure the safety of students amid continuous snowfall that has blocked roads across the district.
According to an official order issued by the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the closure follows an alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, forecasting intense snowfall in the region.
Due to continuous snow, movement on roads has become unsafe, making it risky for students to commute.
