Shimla/New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT), Principal Bench, New Delhi, has directed the Municipal Corporation (MC), Hamirpur, to clear its entire backlog of 10,000 Metric Tonnes (MT) of legacy waste at the Dughneri site by February 10, 2026.
The Tribunal issued the order after observing that, despite previous directions, only a small portion of the accumulated waste had been remediated.
In response to the NGT, the Commissioner of Hamirpur Municipal Corporation filed an affidavit detailing a comprehensive execution plan to meet the deadline.
