Shimla, Feb. 16 -- The Himachal Pradesh Government on Monday reintroduced the amendment to the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act in the Assembly, seeking reconsideration of the controversial extension of the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor and Deputy Mayor's tenure, after the earlier ordinance lapsed without receiving the Governor's assent.
The development coincided with the commencement of the Budget Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, which began this afternoon.
