Delhi/ Shimla, Dec. 14 -- Himachal Pradesh Congress on Sunday alleged that authorities were attempting to prevent its contingent from reaching Ramlila Maidan in Delhi for the party's major national rally under the banner of the "Vote Chor, Gaddi Chor" campaign against the BJP-led central government.

Fatehpur MLA Bhawani Pathania, while broadcasting live on social media from near Himachal Bhawan adjoining the Mandi House Metro Station, claimed that prohibitory orders under Section 144 had been imposed in the area by the Delhi administration.

He alleged that the restrictions were being used to detain or delay Congress leaders and workers who had travelled from Himachal Pradesh to participate in the rally.
