Hamirpur(HP), Feb. 3 -- Thanks to the efforts being made by the state government through the Horticulture Department, Hamirpur district is also making its mark in fruit production.
According to departmental figures for 2025, the area under horticulture in the district has increased to approximately 8,100 hectares and fruit production has reached about 2,200 metric tons.
Deputy Director of the Horticulture Department, Rajeshwar Parmar, said that under the state government's ambitious HP Shiva project and the Horticulture Technology Mission, large-scale plantation of fruits like sweet lime, orange, guava, mango, litchi, and pomegranate is being promoted in the district.
