Etah, Jan. 12 -- In a shocking case of honour killing, a 19-year-old woman and her 24-year-old husband were brutally murdered by the woman's family in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.
The couple had married a month ago at an Arya Samaj temple in Prayagraj after eloping from their homes, police said on Monday.
The incident took place in Gadhiya Suhagpur village under the Jaitra police station area, about 30 km from the district headquarters. The victims have been identified as Shivani and Deepak, both belonging to the Lodhi community. Their houses were barely 150 metres apart, and they had been in a relationship for the past three years.
