Chaibasa, Oct. 25 -- A health scare erupted at Chaibasa Sadar Hospital in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, after a seven-year-old Thalassemia patient tested positive for HIV, hospital sources said today.
The child's family has accused the hospital's blood bank of negligence, claiming that the HIV infection was contracted through blood transfusion. In response to the serious allegations, a five-member investigative team arrived in Chaibasa today to conduct a thorough inspection of the hospital's blood bank, reviewing all procedures from blood donation to transfusion.
