Bhubaneswar, Feb. 2 -- Odisha is set to witness a transformative leap in railway infrastructure following a historic allocation in the union Budget 2026-27.

Announcing the developments, union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw said the unprecedented funding underscores the government's commitment to accelerating rail-led growth in eastern India.

Speaking to media at Rail Sadan via video conference, Vaishnaw highlighted that the annual average railway investment in Odisha has surged from Rs 838 crore during 2009-14 to Rs 10,928 crore in 2026-27, marking a remarkable 13-fold increase.
