Hyderabad, Feb. 11 -- Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, on Tuesday inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in India at Sri City (Tirupati district), Andhra Pradesh, marking a major step in its localisation and expansion strategy.

The world-class facility has been commissioned through Epack Manufacturing Technologies Private Limited (EMTPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Epack Durable Limited, under the Hisense-Epack Durable joint venture, the company said in a release.

The newly commissioned unit, located within Epack Durable's industrial park at Sri City, spans 10 acres and has been developed with an investment of over USD 30 million.
