Agra, Jan. 26 -- In an unprecedented action, activists of a right-wing Hindu organisation hoisted national tri-colour and sung the national anthem at the UNESCO World Heritage monument, Taj Mahal in Agra, on Republic Day.

The responsibility for hoisting the flag and singing the national anthem was claimed by the All India Hindu Mahasabha.

On Monday, several videos and photos went viral on social media showing some activists entering the Taj Mahal and hoisting the tricolor flag. Despite tight security, activists of the Hindu organisation managed to reach the Taj Mahal with hoist the tricolour there, and even made videos that went viral.
