Shimla, Feb. 9 -- Amid continuing protests by landowners, the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) on Monday decided to scale down the proposed Jathiadevi Mountain township near Shimla and proceed with a reduced first phase.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Board of Directors of HIMUDA, chaired by Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani, here on Monday.
Addressing the meeting, Dharmani said that in view of public concerns and opposition from land losers, the earlier proposal to acquire around 5,000 bighas of land had been withdrawn.
