Shimla, April 14 -- Vehicular traffic on the Bagheigarh-Chanju road in the Churah subdivision of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh, was restored after a massive landslide near Chursiyo had blocked the route and disrupted connectivity to Chanju and Dehra Gram Panchayats.
JCB machines were pressed into service to expedite the clearance operation, and traffic movement was restored by late Monday night.
According to reports, the hillside suddenly collapsed, sending large quantities of rocks and debris onto the road and bringing traffic to a complete halt. Videos of the incident circulated widely on social media, showing long queues of stranded vehicles on both sides and commuters facing considerable inconvenience.
