Shimla, April 30 -- : The Special Task Force (STF) of Himachal Pradesh Police on Thursday carried out a major operation against illegal opium cultivation in Mandi district as part of the state-wide anti-drug campaign, officials said.
The action forms part of the government's drive to eliminate drug abuse and narcotics-related activities across the state.
According to official information, the STF received specific intelligence inputs regarding the illegal cultivation of opium in the Silsoolhari area under Katola sub-tehsil in Mandi district. Acting swiftly, an STF team conducted a raid at the identified location and launched a search operation.
